The Cyclades island group in the Aegean Sea is one of the world's most famous sailing destinations. Defined by iconic blue-domed churches, whitewashed harbor towns, and deep blue waters, these islands offer short sailing distances between diverse ports of call.

Cruising the Cyclades by boat allows you to balance lively beach clubs with tranquil anchorages and ancient archaeological sites.

Planning Your Cyclades Yacht Trip

  • Meltemi Wind Awareness: Strong dry northerly Meltemi winds blow across the Aegean in July and August; plan southerly, sheltered routes during peak summer.
  • Caldera Mooring: Anchoring inside the Santorini caldera is restricted due to extreme depths; utilize designated mooring buoys off Vlychada or Ammoudi.
  • Shoulder Season Advantages: May, June, and September offer gentler winds, pleasant sea temperatures, and lighter harbor traffic.
